BINGEN, Wash., June 11, 2015 – Insitu is proud to be recognized for the third year in a row as a recipient of the Champions of Veterans Enterprise award for using veteran-owned small businesses in Fiscal Year 2014.
The Champions of Veterans Enterprise awards were presented by the National Veteran Small Business Coalition, which bestowed the awards at the Veteran Entrepreneurial Training Symposium on June 9-11 in Norfolk, Virginia.
“At Insitu we pride ourselves in supporting the warfighter in the field with our products and services and it is especially rewarding to support them when they transition to civilian workforce,” said Ryan M. Hartman, president and CEO of Insitu and veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. “One way we are proud to support them is through contracting with businesses owned by the men and women who have served this great country.”
In 2014, Insitu placed a little more than 77 percent of subcontracted dollars with small businesses, 9.6 percent of which was with veteran-owned small businesses. Also committed to employing our veterans, 38 percent of Insitu’s workforce of nearly 800 employees is made up of prior members of our armed forces.
