QE-1 Squadron carries out ScanEagle’s first embarked operation at NPaOc ‘Apa’

On November 21, the 1st Remotely Piloted Aircraft Squadron (QE-1) carried out, for the first time, the flight from the Oceanic Patrol Vessel Apa (P-121).

The start of EsqdQE-1’s embarked operations represents a milestone for Naval Aviation by validating the contribution of the SARP-E to the Brazilian Fleet.

In total, four RQ-1 ScanEagle aircraft are being used to carry out the first onboard test flights, conducted by the Navy Aeronautics Directorate (DAerM), which verify the day and night operation, launch and recovery capabilities, in addition to the Control Station systems.

Em 21 de novembro, o 1º Esquadrão de Aeronaves Remotamente Pilotadas (QE-1) realizou, pela primeira vez, o voo a partir do Navio-Patrulha Oceânico Apa (P-121).

O início das operações embarcadas do EsqdQE-1 representa um marco para a Aviação Naval ao validar a contribuição dos SARP-E em prol da Esquadra Brasileira.

No total, quatro aeronaves RQ-1 ScanEagle estão sendo utilizadas para a realização dos primeiros voos de teste embarcados, conduzidos pela Diretoria de Aeronáutica da Marinha (DAerM), os quais verificam a capacidade de operação, de lançamento e de recolhimento diurno e noturno, além dos sistemas da Estação de Controle.
