Spanish Navy’s ScanEagle Flies Over the Mediterranean From the Reina Sofia Frigate

The 11th Squadron of the Spanish Navy has made the first flight of the UAS ScanEagle during transit through the Mediterranean aboard the frigate Reina Sofia on its way to join Operation Atalanta, which fights piracy in the waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Somalia.

The unit specializes in drones for the Navy, and operates 3 ScanEagle systems, consisting of four aircraft and a Ground Control Station.
