Insitu’s Rapid Response Team Aids Wildfire Fighting Efforts

The challenge

Fighting seasonal wildfires in difficult terrain is problematic and dangerous for firefighters negotiating steep, vast mountainous areas.

The Solution

Insitu provides the capability to fly at night and over heavy smoke and inversion conditions, which assists in fire suppression by guiding firefighters to “hot spots.”

The Result

In 2018 ScanEagle® assisted with the Eagle Creek and Garner Complex fires in Oregon, plus multiple fires in Northern California. ScanEagle operations helped firefighters quickly extinguish hundreds of “hot spots” over approximately 90,000 acres of wildlands in Oregon alone.
