The Columbia River Gorge is not only where Insitu is headquartered, it’s the special and beautiful place we call home. Because we appreciate and value the Gorge region so highly, we’re committed to doing what we can to be smart stewards and good neighbors.
Every April for the past 10 years, Insitu has sponsored and volunteered at the day-long Community Pride Cleanup event. This year, we helped Klickitat County residents responsibly dispose of more than 140,000 pounds of household goods, recyclables, scrap metals, electronics, trash and Styrofoam.
Because Insitu is dedicated to Green Bag Recycling, we recycle or reuse 60 percent of our company waste (including coffee grounds!), as well as reuse and donate all kinds of electronics, equipment and recyclables in support of local schools and Habitat for Humanity.
Staying on the path of sustainability is an important priority for Insitu so we continually measure, analyze and monitor our carbon footprint to take steps to lower our individual and corporate environmental impact.
Thanks to green building practices, such as intelligent lighting, fuel-efficient vehicle parking, and a self-cooling, solar-reflecting roof, our 124,000 square-foot home office earned Silver in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) designation. See our scorecard.
