Integrator Imagers

One turret, many imagers

Integrator packs electro-optic and mid-wave infrared (MWIR) sensors, an IR marker and a laser rangefinder into one multifunction ball turret carried in the nose bay. Endurance in this turret-only configuration can be greater than 20 hours. Data is cross-queued between sensors, so eyes stay on target. Integrator unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) enable rapid payload integration so new imagers can quickly be fielded for unique mission needs.

Multifunction ball turret

Features:
  • High pan and tilt slew rates let you switch rapidly between multiple targets within the field of regard.
  • Low occlusion enables surveillance of any target below the aircraft.

Electro-optic imager

The electro-optic camera has been in service during daylight operations since early 2008. It uses modified, commercial components, so parts are readily available, with a large consumer market investment that ensures quality. The operator can rapidly move between multiple targets and can easily switch to the mid-wave infrared imager for night operations.

Benefits:
  • High resolution
  • Clear images

Mid-wave infrared imager

The MWIR imager has been fielded since mid-2009, bringing daylight-quality imaging to infrared operations.

Features:
  • Span narrow to wide fields of view with continuous optical zoom.
  • Watch specific objects or conduct broad-area surveillance.
  • Track fixed or moving targets regardless of aircraft position and orientation.
Benefits:
  • Exceptional situational awareness at night, at dusk and at dawn
  • Proven to provide clear imagery in moisture-laden daylight environments that blind other sensors

Onboard video processing — Alticam Vision System

The Alticam Vision System (AVS) removes jitter and other motion distortion and enhances images to provide persistent, “hands-off” surveillance, even at narrow fields of view, for extended time periods. AVS can indicate moving targets in the image, all within a rugged package for intense field operations.

Features:
  • Video stabilization and tracking
  • Turret video auto‐track
  • Image rotation and digital zoom
  • Contrast equalization
  • Edge enhancement and sharpening
  • Noise filtering
  • False colors for black-and-white images
  • Moving-object tracking assist
  • Picture-in-picture for dual-video display
  • Dual-video image overlay
Benefits:
  • Get clear, stable imagery immediately from Integrator or ScanEagle®.
  • Eliminate blur due to vibration and residual motion, and generate a steady image.
  • Shorten the period of time to positively identify subject of interest.
  • Broadcast high-quality corrected video to ground control or troops on the ground with a video receive in Integrator.

Integrator Options

The entire design concept of Integrator was based on enabling options. To that end, the options listed below represent only a portion of what makes Integrator the most versatile UAS in its class.

Integrator Payload Bays

Integrator carries payloads totaling up to 37.5 pounds across multiple payload bays. When we talk about integrating payloads onto Integrator, we talk about payloads per day, not days per payload.
