Relieve Pilots on Dull, Dirty & Dangerous Missions

Save Lives, Save Assets, Save Money

Manned flight in extreme weather conditions can be dangerous. Insitu UAS are proven to operate in extreme environments from the mountains of Afghanistan to the chills of Alaska.

  • Reduce the risk and impact of losing costly assets.
  • Change mission status from “no go” to “go.”

ScanEagle imagery is used to help assess tsunami damage in the Solomon Islands. With two helicopters supporting the relief effort, both are able to transport people and supplies where they are needed, increasing productivity by 50 percent. (April 2007)

ScanEagle operated by the University of Alaska receives an emergency certificate of authorization (COA) from the Federal Aviation Administration to fly in civil airspace with an unmanned aircraft beyond line-of-sight. Insitu’s ScanEagle is the first entity other than NASA or the Department of Defense to receive this COA. (August 2009)
