Loiter on Target through Day and Night

Auto-follow Vehicles of Interest

Establishing a pattern of life requires endurance. ScanEagle can stay on target for over 24 hours.

  • Operate one aircraft with an electro-optic sensor during the day
  • Operate another aircraft with an infrared sensor at night for continuous surveillance.
  • Re-task aircraft from orbit to automatically follow departing vehicles with the click of a mouse.

The Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Divison uses ScanEagle to maintain positive contact after seeing someone planting Improvised explosive devices (IEDs). CAB also uses ScanEagle to gather intelligence and pass off target information to a helicopter pilot. (June 2010)
