UAS
Instructor Course
The
UAS Instructor Course is designed to prepare Insitu trained UAS Operators or
Maintainers to instruct all facets of our system (UAV, GCS, and GSE). The Instructor Course will qualify an
Operator or Maintainer who has achieved the requisite amount of experience with
the UAS to teach and certify individuals in all aspects of the operations or
maintenance of the system. This is
accomplished though academic’s training (lesson plan construction, building
presentations, and Fundamentals of Instruction training) and student teaching with
students attending our Basic Operator course and maintenance courses throughout
each phase of training (academics, simulation, maintenance, and flight training).
This
course runs approximately 4 weeks and has three general areas of study:
- Academic
Study and Practice Teaching - The
academics portion of the training program focusing on topics to include:
Classroom Instruction, Student/Group Assessment, Area Preparation, Media,
Courseware Development,

Study and Practice Teaching -
The Simulation/Lab portion of the training
program focusing on topics to include Operations, Employment, Tactics,

individuals as instructors can be accomplished in 4 weeks time. If gaining the ability to accomplish initial
qualification training is desired, the individual is required to remain to
accomplish the formal course (Basic Operator [8 weeks] or Maintenance II Course
[4 weeks]) from beginning to completion.
Individuals accomplishing the training will be recognized to accomplish
initial qualification training.
Students
should be prepared for simulator, maintenance and flight evaluations as well as
a proctored written exam, similar in style to an FAA written exam comprised of
topics covered throughout academic and simulator training.
