Charlie Guthrie: Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Guthrie is the chief technology officer for Insitu. Previously he was director of advanced capabilities 
development for Northrop Grumman's Western Region. He was responsible for programs and 
technology development across a wide portfolio. Before working for Northrop Grumman, Mr. Guthrie
worked for Boeing and was one of the key actors in the original ScanEagle agreement between
Boeing and Insitu. Mr. Guthrie has design experience across a broad range of aerospace systems, 
including most types of military aircraft, missiles, and space vehicles. He has also worked in 
evaluation and capability projection of foreign technologies, capabilities, designs, and operational 
systems.                             
 
Mr. Guthrie was a Boeing Technical Fellow and was named Manager of the Year in 1993 and 1994 by
North American Aircraft. He earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas, 
and has both completed and taught a number of short courses in technical and management topics. 
He has supported the California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo School of Engineering, and the University
of Kansas Aerospace Department, along with other schools, by providing industry feedback, serving 
on advisory boards, and conducting guest lectures. Mr. Guthrie is a senior member of the Association 
Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and has served on its Aircraft Design Technical 
Committee. He is also a senior member of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems 
International (AUVSI) and a member of the National Management Association (NMA).
