Directions

Insitu is located less than 1 hour east of the Portland International Airport (PDX) in Bingen, Washington.  It sits on the Columbia River across the toll bridge from Hood River, Oregon.

All directions start from the Portland Airport.  From there you head south on Interstate 205, and then quickly proceed east on Interstate 84. (NOTE: On 205, the exit to I-84, The Dalles, comes up quite quickly so keep an eye out.)

All Insitu facilities have restricted access, so direct contact with your Insitu host is important.  If you are unclear on where your Insitu host might be located or have lost contact information for him or her, please follow directions to the Winery where our receptionist can assist you.

For directions to other Insitu facilities, please contact the person you are visiting for detailed directions and complete contact information such as mobile phone numbers for final confirmation and access when you arrive. Note that all Insitu facilities require key access and most will not have an open door, so contact info for your Insitu host is very important. Note also that Insitu is growing fast, and people and departments move frequently.

Visitors who are not US citizens or residents should make special preparations to be sure that the visit will be allowed and that discussions can proceed. Meetings may not be possible without a signed PIA (Proprietary Information Agreement, aka NDA).

Please be sure to return your badges when you leave for the day.

Attire and atmosphere — casual. Dogs and children — often present. Insitu employees dress in business casual wear, leaning towards casual, appropriate to the season. Summers can be very warm and windy, and winters can be cold including occasional snow. We promote a casual and friendly atmosphere, though it is results-oriented and charged with high-energy professionalism. Insitu is and has always been dog-friendly, which is common in the Gorge.  If you or those in your group have specific needs or requests, regarding animals in particular, we can most likely accommodate you. Please be sure to let us know in advance. Of course, smoking is not allowed in any Insitu facility.
